To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I'm an Orbiter veteran, also played a lot of Black Prophecy during the closed beta, played a bit of Takiodom too, long before the G1 acquisition (back when everything was still localized to Brazil lol).
Right now I'm playing Oolite pretty hardcore, I never played the original Elite (hey, I bet I'm a lot younger than YOU) but I was always aware of it's legendary acclaim but if I'm honest, while I can tolerate primitive graphics, wireframe is just a bit too dated for my generation X brain.
But I love rag-tag vagabond space trading and fighting.
So Oolite is like the perfect game.
Only been playing a few weeks too, but I think I'm in for the long haul, I want that Elite Status.

You should try Oolite in wireframe mode - it's rather strange, but fun!
