To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Can't say that I have ever heard of any, guess it would depend if you can run any emulators on them.

like i write,i have working NES,SNES,SEGA  emulators with 2000 old games on it like pirates, mario bros, green beret, console hits, arcade hits and elite for  NES. while almost all games working fine, elite have graphic malfunction problem(sprites over sprites, previous screen don't disaper),so the game is impossible to play . i try find working elite game for NES and start it with NES emulator, but result is the same. so i must find some other solution.

If this is a rom problem, you may try to download it, from Ian Bell's site ( http://www.iancgbell.clara.net/elite/nes/index.htm ) (Or you mat find another version, you can use. (If you had an Xbox I would recomend an Amiga Emulator).

As I recall there are only some NES emulator which will play Nes Elite, I will have a look on the other computer and see which one I used.

Also the game is Pal only, make sure you not playing it in NTSC mode.

Yes it's a shame there were no Elite clones made for the PSX. I searched myself in vain when I recently picked up one of these old consoles. There are at least some very good space sims though, just no Elite clones. Pinback, do you recall this thread you made? Found this very useful in my ebay hunts. :girlcrazy:

Indeed I do recall that thread and their are few more games to add to it like Star Trek Legacy on the PS2.

Will have to look on the other computer to see which emulator I used to play the game but I get the feeling this is the problem rather than the game rom.

OK . I found an experimental Amiga Emulator for PS2. ( http://ps2emu.dcemu.co.uk/uae4ps2.shtml ). Be warned though. It's quite slow. (But you could play Elite without sound).

Nice find CaptainKal, I take it that you will need a modded PS2 to play it.

Found the Nintendo emulator which will play Nes Elite, it called FCEUX http://www.fceux.com/web/home.html it needs to be put in Pal mode before playing the game rom.

Only problem is their a version for the PS2?.

Since he can play with emulators , I think that his ps2 is modded.

yes my ps2 is modded , i have many emulators and all works, except maybe 1 % of games ,because there is no perfect emulator for all games on all sistems and elite for NES is in that 1%, so elite for nes on ps2 is imposable.  "Geraldine" try   http://pioneerspacesim.net/news  it looks great .

I know this might be a little late, but I found Star Trek : Invasion to be the most enjoyable space shooter on the Playstation.  Admittedly, the controls are rather "twitchy", but the developers seemed to notice this and added in a "motion lock" system where your ship will essentially auto-pilot in such a way to keep your target in sight.  (Once the target leaves the screen, the motion lock gets released)

The good thing about playing Playstation Space Sims, with an emulator is that I can remap the joypad to a  joystick (And savestates of course).
