To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I know, you are already used to getting the shaft when it comes to games. I thought I'd tell you all to keep an eye out on something called Wineskin. You probably already know about Wine, from its more 'comercial' use under Codeweavers as Crossover games. While a good program in its own right, I'm not a fan of pricing. Wineskin 'wrappers' as they are called, I find easier then the 'bottles' as well. Its currently in its 1.0 state, but I'm using it to run Star Trek Online on my Mac. Works great! Runs just as smoothly as it does on my actual PC. Havn't tested anything else out, but the site shows BG2, and Heroes of Magic (? The one with a party of four, and had like six games in the series...) Anyway, basically, keep an eye out! Also, check the links section for a link to a forum with a bunch of wrappers for various games. Its all part of a 'free' porting push.
Have a good one all.
*Edit*
That being said, its not user friendly, and Crossover Games is probably the better option. Tried installing M&B. Not fun. STO was done by someone on the forums, and was signifigantly easier to use. 😛
