To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I thought I should mention that there are no changes to the Hometowns mod for alpha 29. The alpha 28 version should still work fine.
The alpha 28 version works for alpha 30 too. You can get it here. http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/files/file/944-hometowns-alpha28-modzip/
Excellent as always Marcel, its just not a "proper" Alpha release with your Home Towns too! :girlcrazy:
Oh and it gets a well deserved plug on ModDB too :curtsey:
hey, can you add Nottingham in the UK for the next release?
I am indeed.
Ah, I live in Beeston and work in Nottingham 🙂
I'm just up the road in Wilford near the harvester. I work near Castle Marina.
Small world in this galaxy!
Indeed it really is, occasionally a few of us walk up to the retail park at Castle Marina to get food from the Sainsburys there 🙂
I work just down by the train station so it's a short walk along the canal... although maybe not today since it's fecking freezing outside 😀
And Snowing. I'm often at sainsburys getting milk and coffee for the office as no other fecker seems to be arsed!
Looks like there will be an alpha 30 version after all! I'll add Nottingham and Beeston when I get home from work this afternoon. It usually takes a day or two to get approved. I'll let you know when it's up.
You might find that Nottingham and Beeston are very very close 🙂 Probably best just to use Nottingham!
I'd be interested to see how much cash they would offer for a shot range delivery from Nottingham to Beeston 🙂
Thanks Marcel, much appreciated.
Probably about $20-$25, if you can get there in time. :prankster:
Robin Hood's OK, it's the sheriff you have to look out for. lol I added Nottingham and Beeston. You can see them from each other, kind of like Croslee and Glasgow. I'll post again when it's approved.
How About Melborune in Australia!
It's already in there. You live in the same spaceport as robn!
Edit: I updated it and added your name to Melbourne.
Hey Marcel, did you get the the A30 version uploaded yet?
Yes Vuzz, the alpha 28 version works, but it doesn't have Beeston and Nottingham. I uploaded the alpha 30 version to SSC, but DarkOne's moving the forum to a new host and it hasn't been approved yet. I tried to upload it here but uploading is temporarily disabled during the transition. I just uploaded it to SkyDrive. Here's the link.

I can not wake up too tired after not getting much sleep.
Thanks for the skydrive link Marcel 🙂
By the way, what is the blue faction mod test??
The blue faction mod test is an idea I had to have different station types and building sets for the different factions in Pioneer. I put it up there because someone was interested in my version of the big_crappy_spacestation and the most nearly completed version is in there. Of course, you're welcome to download it and try it out but be advised that the docking code doesn't work right in alpha 30. If you want to see how it's supposed to work, put it in your mods folder, load up alpha 29, start on Earth and fly to Mars High.
I tried to use it in Alpha 30 to see what it does wrong but he game crashes on startup...I'll dig out A29 and have a look at it.
Thanks Vuzz!
Metamartian, I find that the game crashes on startup if walterar's Scout + is also installed. I think the incompatibility is related to the submodels.
dunno Marcel, would not work for me on vanilla A30 but works a treat on the 13th Jan nightly with walterar's scout mod installed too.
I see what you mean about the rotation. For docking bay 1 it needs an extra clockwise 90 degree rotation. weird. probably some maths crap that I can't work out.
Vuzz, I copied the 3 lines from the alpha 30 stations. It works for me in the stock alpha 30 download. Fluffyfreak thinks I may have found a bug. I noticed that when docking with the stock big_crappy in the stock alpha 30 the ship turns around and goes in backwards then turns around again. I'll get that nightly build and see what happens. I can probably adjust the normals of the docking bays and get it to work right, but I don't want to do that if the problem lies elsewhere.
