Can't play game - GL_INVALID_OPERATION

(@uighur)
Active Member

Hello everyone.

During the loading sequence, I get the GL_INVALID_OPERATION error.

My specifics are:

Intel Core  i7-4500U (1.80GHz / 3.00GHz  Turbo Boost)

System  8Gb RAM

NVidia GT-740M 2Gb DDR3

OpenGL version 4.5

OS Windows 8.1 64bit

The latest ,still perfectly working release, is 20141118

From that version onward, I am no longer able to play. (Since switching to OpenGL 3.2)

I attached the Opengl.txt file. Thank you in advance.

Uighur Hello, welcome.

I do not use Windows, but have heard this may be your solution: "right clicked and went to properties and set the compatibility to windows 7."

Tell me if it work.

Strange, the 740 should be able to run it and is returning the correct OpenGL version - NB: It actually asks for a 3.1 version, I downgraded it from 3.2 for better compatibility.

All i can recommend is that you make sure you have the latest drivers installed and try again.

Thank you for your replies  🙂

@walterar : Setting compatibility did not work, for me. I tried Windows 8  Windows 7 and Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode.

@fluffyfreak : maybe because it is a 740M ? Not fully compatible ?

Thank you again, anyway  :good:

Ah is this in a laptop? You could try to use the Intel HD GPU instead but to do so I think you will need to open the nVidia control panel and tell it not to use the nVidia with Pioneer.

It's very strange because I run it on my laptop with an nVidia 650M and comparing our OpenGL.txt files shows that the only difference is you have more things supported 🙁

Strange, my 540M can run Pioneer just fine.

Uighur could you try running the latest build which went up just the other day? It's the build dated 20150715 I don't know if it will have any effect but it's all that I can suggest right now.

@fluffyfreak: thank you, but I ran that build, the very day of release. Unfortunately, it did not work. In fact, I tried every build released after 20141118 (the only one still working)
