To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Improvement-expansion of planet statistics

Is it possible to add into the game the atmospheric composition of each planet ie venus like planets 80% carbon dioxide and 20% methane, earhtlike planets would have oxygen-hydrogen-helium-argon type compositions same with gas giants, ice giants and so forth.

Just in addition ot hte usual stats, it might affect trade goods as well ie ice planets with stations would be oxygen-hydorgen cold tyhpe planets and as such would export ice and associated hydrogen fuel. Just an idea to flow around with, might affect missions later on with trade goods being tied to atmosphere types ( rocky worlds would be rich in minerals and so forth)

We already have composition attributes. Currently they are used to drive the terrain generator, but it would be a very small addition to expose them to mission modules.

The plan is to move all aspects of equipment, commodities and trade into modules. Once that infrastructure is in place, and assuming that planetary composition is exposed as I mentioned, then it'll be quite trivial to setup exports and such as you describe.
