To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Pioneer has had a wiki for a long time, first on pioneerspacesim.net and then when that got locked down due to spam, on GitHub. That's been less than ideal because of its poor editing features and the fact that we couldn't give out edit access without giving edit access to the game code as well.

So we've talked about what to do with about it, and the general consensus was that we should move somewhere where everyone can get involved and it can be a wiki for all things Pioneer - players, modders, artists and developers alike. This week it got brought up again but we decided it was better to just do something, so I set up a new wiki here:

http://pioneerwiki.com/

So far it has no content. That's where you lot come in. Right now the only thing you have to do to use the wiki is register an account. After that, its open day. None of the devs really have the time to drive this thing, so I'd love to see you guys & girls getting in there and building it out into something awesome.

As an example, I really really like the way the Freeciv wiki is structured:

http://freeciv.wikia.com/

I'm not saying ours has to be anything like that, I just like it.

A good first thing to do might be to get the mod list and some of the tutorials up there. I'm sure someone here will think of something!

And I'm quite serious about this being a community-driven project. I have the admin rights just because I set it up. I'm quite happy to hand out powers to anyone that can make use of them. As long as you're working on a great resource for Pioneer users and you're not getting me into trouble with my hosting provider, I really don't mind. So let me know what I can do to help you make this awesome!

Hey guys,

To get the ball rolling I have started adding some content to the new wiki site. I'm trying to make it a little 'less developer, more user' oriented.

More importantly I've created a current known mod list - http://pioneerwiki.com/wiki/Mods

As you can see it is a little bare, so if you have some mods that you wish to share then feel free to pop onto the wiki and add yours today!

Lets make it awesome!!
