To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Pioneer build 201307.4 will shortly be up on ModDB and you know what that means, yes I have to pick some screenshots.

I have to say, you guys have made it the most difficult it's ever been for me this month for picking between them all. Great, simply great! :girlcrazy:  However after much thinking (and wishing I could just upload them all) Tichy's & NeuralKernal's are on deck. Many thanks folks for your stunning images. :curtsey:

Thanks Geraldine 🙂

I just went to Epsilon Cygni to record some video (coming soon in the other thread). Very beautyful place with one star and two sub-stellar objects. Triple sunrises!!

Scooping Hercules, manual deceleration burns at closest approach to gradually lower the orbit from autopilot's "low" orbit... I've scooped Jupiter once but I don't think I've ever survived Hercules...

Love the Pumpkinseed! I'd scale back it's delta V a bunch, though. It feels like a short range ship to me.

I had occasion to test plummeting into the atmosphere of Venus at... some speed, grabbed a couple of screenies on the way in flying towards the Sun 😉

Oh man, i wish the computer i'm using at the moment could do that.  I'm relegated to low distance and low fractal detail to get a decent performance at the moment.

Mine is a four years old (with some upgrades) desktop. Everything you can build today, will be much better than mine. 😉 I think that the Pioneer engine is quite fast and, with the recent builds, the more cores you have, the faster the rendering. If I'm not wrong, at the moment, Pioneer is more cpu and memory bandwidth intensive, than gpu intensive.

It's getting near that time again folks, the start of the month for my upload of Pioneer to ModDB and my usual begging to you all for pics :girlcrazy: . If you have any new juicy screenshots hiding on your hard drives you want to share of Pioneer, please upload em, pretty please with sugar on top?

You can't do the update without including some pictures of Pumpkinseed, Mola Mola and the new updated Deneb Transport. 🙂

I'll try to take some good photos soon.

Should I do some wallpaper sized renders of the Mola and Pumpkinseed?

Even if they will not be used for moddb, they will surely end up on my desktop background. 😀
