To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Just saw this trailer of a tv show that will be on the BBC soon that is about humans settling a new planet.
Ooohhh, when's it coming out?
no official release date yet :geek:
Looks interesting !
New scifi from the Big Brother Corporation.
I wonder if that famous quarry pit will be used, the one they always use for alien planets.
I've been watching this, its actually pretty good. I hope they don't mess it up as it has a lot of interesting plot points so far...
Just hoping I see this one come to Netflix streaming soon.
Well, you can always trick bbc iplayer to let you watch stuff, or just download it from Demonoid or Piratebay or something 😉 Downloading them is the way to go IMO. TBH thats what I do with all my sci-fi series bar none, I don't see anything wrong with it at all. I would think you would get a much better quality from downloading it as opposed to streaming it.... Well I couldn't stream a video in high quality, my internet is too crappy.
I watched the first 2 episodes of the series last night and I have mixed feelings about it:
- I am happy that I have a new sci fi show to watch
- some more sci fi elements wouldn't hurt
- the fact that they are stranded on a world somewhere, not knowing what's going on with Earth (yet) is a great plot
- and again, I want to see more science fiction stuff ... technology, ships, futuristic weapons, not just pistols painted in orange
So far it hasn't impressed me with anything but I am willing to give it a chance, so I'll watch a few more episodes.
