To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hi,

Back in 1995 I got my first computer (PC with windows 95), and on this computer were the most awesome space game ever! Now the problem is I cannot remember the name of it, and I have tried searching for days, but to no use.

So I shall try to describe the game:

The color scheme is very basic, like only a few colors total in the entire game, i think the player was green, and the computer were like red and yellow and blue. The ships and planets only had an outline of the corresponding color with no fill.

I think you controlled the ship with the arrow keys on the keyboard.

In this game, you have a top-down perspective and its 2D. You could fly anywhere you liked. In-game you had to sort of fly through space and land on asteroids/planets to take them over, they would slowly develop a base and defense, with no defense the enemy could take your entire planet with the base. Landing on these without crashing was also a challenge sometimes because you often misjudged the speed of your ship. I never completed one game because I were so young and incompetent at the time.  😛

You could also get weapon upgrades to some sort of laser.

I hope you guys can help me identify my childhood game! I'm 27 btw.

- Thanks !

Was it by any chance  http://www.synthetic-reality.com/warpath32.htm That version came out in 97, but on the same site there's also "warpath classic", might have been out around that time. When I was a kid I loved this game

Thank you for your answer man! But sadly this is not the game. All too many colors, the game literally only had a couple of colors, as far as I remember.

Hmm...
