To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Project leader, and also cinematic designer ( I work on all the cinematics).

We are very grateful for the support shown for our project, and are intending to bring back the glory days of the space simulator genre.

There isn't a whole amount of concrete info on what you can and can't do in the game, and what features we are intending to add, but as details become more solid, you'll hear it here.

Anyway thanks for the support and we hope you enjoy what we create.

Hi SirBaron

The more space gaming projects out there the better. The community has gone a long time without steady flow of games. X32I shows a lot of vision from the discussions with the team members and i'm sure a lot of people here will give some great feedback.

I know I have asked the question about X32I being a standalone project. I wonder why Crytek doesn't do what Epic did with the Unreal engine and let people have it and if you make a legit game from it you want to sell then they get a little bit of a cut. I like that concept and more people should adopt it. The indie devs get to use a great engine (saves from building one) and more games get created making more money and content for everyone 🙂

Yea we was half expecting Crytek to do a similar 25% cut deal with the CE2, the CE2 being a PC only engine doesn't get much sales, due to being limited by one platform, and that will allow the CE2 to actually gain back some of the money lost developing it.

As it stands for standalone project, I can't say too much about that, but you will get a definite answer on that soon enough.

I know being told to wait is a pain, but I'm afraid there are things I can't really discuss at this moment in time.

However, should we have a definite answer you guys will know. We have so much planned for this project that I feel if done properly (key words) will set this high in the space genre field.

We also consider community feedback, but currently we're low on asset designers, so somethings in the videos are usually WIP.

Anyway I'll be happy to answer what I can, and if you or anyone else has questions I'll be floating around here as much as I can. We just don't want to spoil everything before you guys get to play it. 🙂

So are you saying they've indicated that they won't do this with you or is that still up in the air? I'm worried it will be a big obstacle for you guys if Crytek doesn't go with this type of arrangement...

Welcome to SSC btw, SirBaron.
