To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Pirate Hideouts in DarkStar One

Hi guys,

I've just started playing DarkStar One and last night I bumped into a pirate hideout and got a weapon for killing their boss. I'm wondering if anyone know the locations of the pirate hideouts in the game? 🙄

Thanks.

With the DarkStar One forums gone forever it is hard if this was documented. Quick search online netted me nothing. I know when I played I came across a few, how many total in the game and where they all are I don't know.

Yea.. I did google it up but got nothing 🙁

Guess I have to visit every jump looking for them and remember to list them out 😮

The only thing I can remember about this game is that it was very repetitive . All pirate hideouts are the same, all systems are the same, all dialogues the same. All things considered, Freelancer was a much better game than Darkstar One although it is a bit older than it.

If you read the news in every sector, you can find hints about pirates lurking in some systems. Jumb in that system and target wrecks, anomalies, everything that seems suspicious in the target list. Every sector has two or three pirate clans. (Two waves of fighters, and a wave consinting of the pirate boss, and his bodyguards).

Seem to recall reading that the developer appear as pirates towards the end of the game.

Pick up the 360 version of DS a few weeks back, still haven’t got the 360 yet to play it on. 🙄

Anyone know what the differences are between the console and PC version. ❓
