To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

This game kinda reminds me of Shattered Horizon.... but it is basically online matches with other VR players.
Maybe they will release a non-VR version of the game in the future.
Its officially released now on Steam.
Looks like they are coming out with a non-VR version of the game and Ubisoft announced open beta sign-ups

I kinda saw this coming or the game would just close down, its bad enough multiplayer only games have a short shelf life, but VR only multiplayer games die even quicker.... so its good to see they are at least expanding the game to include non-vr users
The VR edition of the game may not be selling well enough to warrant more investment into a non-VR version. IMO if all was well there would be no reason to not release it especially since it was already in beta..... shame.
We will be bringing the Space Junkies non-VR open beta to a close on Wednesday August 28th at 9am UTC.
While this is the end of our journey in terms of development of the game, the team is proud to have achieved what we set out to do: create a fun and fast-paced competitive FPS in VR.
The game servers will remain open and accessible to players who purchased the VR version of Space Junkies so that Spacers can continue to take on each other in the many community tournaments we’ve seen since launch.
The current plan, however, is to not release the non-VR version of the game.
