To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

An article about Diaspora, a Freespace 2-based BSG adaptation

It's always nice to see space sims getting coverage at a great PC gamer website like Rock, Paper, Shotgun (one of my personal favs).

It's not a mod at all, it will be a fully playable standalone game using the FSO engine. Development has taken a while on this project but i'm sure it will be worth the wait when it is complete.

The displays look stunningly realistic. I hope they actually complete it.

I watched this project for a year or so. Its coming along nicely, and should be quite a treat for BSG lovers. Sadly, it has its roots in the drama of the now defunct Beyond the Red Line project, and a few other copyright niggles prevent some features being used in the game. (I.e. They cannot use a Battlestar Galactica or Pegasus model in game.) So they've had to make due.

Still, it should be pretty awesome if they ever release. Last I heard they had 1st person launch sequences out of the tube. Been a while since I last looked.
