To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Wow, you're quick. I saw this at Blues News. It's being developed by a start-up called Novacore. Hopefully publisher Kalypso won't get our expectations up too high like they did with Dark Star One.

Judging from the info available it will be a bog-standard 4x game which is a shame. I also have my reservations when it comes to the developer. Reading the press release I found several errors and inconsistencies, but this one is down right glaring:

"The 4X space simulation will put players in control of the last surviving humans, as they explore space in a quest to expand their galactic empire. "

I mean wtf, they are the last surviving humans but they have a galactic empire and they want to expand ? 😆

Maybe they are clones 😆

I also thought that the game seemed a bit bog standard in that it doesn’t appear to offer any thing new.

Watched a video on Gametrailers.com (which I can't find anymore) that went over the alpha and a lot of the features of Legend of Pegasus.

Game has been released into the wilds of space and can be download from the usual digital suppliers, not sure if the box one is out as well.

Looks like Novacore have gone burst. http://www.novacore-studios.de/

Yes, it is official.

The developer will be shut down and they are not able to release the source code of the game. So community patches are also very unlikely.

The game looked so promising and all previews were very positive. And what did we get? Pretty much nothing for 40€ <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//suicide.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':suicide:' />

I still hope Kalypso won't let that game just die but if they do I can add another publisher to my 'do-not-buy' list.

And the German forums of Kalypso are full of frustrated customers.

my rough calculations:

2-3 days per forum-page of customers demanding a refund until insolvency for a small company.

nice study-case for computer game product managers !

It's really a shame it came to this, I don't know why a publisher would even back a developer that was struggling that badly. LoP was out just about two months and now they are bankrupt, I take it that the game didn't sell well at release, but now, Novacore will not benefit at all from sales after the bankruptcy. Because you know the digital distribution websites will have this game discounted in the coming months. I cannot remember did this game ever have a kickstarter?

They've never been on Kickstarter with LoP. Might have helped to hire some additional staff and polish the game before release.

Not sure how fast it will vanish from the digital distributer pages, its the devs that gone bancrupt, not their publisher.

So, I emailed Steam and asked for a refund of the game, now that there is only little hope for patches.

I didn't get the money back, but they offered to give me the amount as credit on my Steam account.

If they now remove LoP from my account and I can keep Patrician 4 and Dungeons, which I received from Kalypso as a compensation for the bad status of LoP, I will be a happy customer.

However, no more games from Kalypso in the future. At least not as a Pre-purchase! ^^
