To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I've been lurking around these forums for about a year, so I think it's time I said hey.

I've played all the elite games, I-war, most recent game was EVE and the Nexus, Jupiter Incident.

Also tried X and X2, but got bored too fast, but looking forward to seing JGE and BP finished 🙂

I'm also doing some game developing on a hobby basis, but time never permits to finish anything.

Here are some shots of some stuff from I did in 2009

Hi shadmar, welcome to the SSC! 🙂

This game of yours looks very promising, nice particle effects, possibly seamless planet landings, yes very nice indeed. Are you still working on it? I do hope so!

Welcome to SSC Shadmar

Waiting for JGE and BP myself (shifting more to the BP than JGE).

Shadmar for a hobbyist your work is looking really good. I hope your still trying to continue your development. Did you do all the modeling work as well in the videos?

Thanks, seamless planet landings is really hard to do, but it would be great. I still work on some concept but it's mostly small isolated modules, maybe one day it will turn into something. 🙂

Not really some taken from google 3d warehouse, planet is done in paintshop using the flamingpear planet plugin.

The ship in the 2nd and 3rd video you might know, it's the Pelican dropship from Halo.

Thanks.

I use 3DRad, it's free and can be downloaded from http://www.3drad.com

If you want the bleeding edge version you can donate to the engine developer.

It's nice little wysiwig/script engine, the lastest also support nvidea physx.

Aha! I thought I recognised it from someplace! 😎 If you do another ship, have a think about the "Aliens" dropship. Always loved it's totally mad landing gear 😎

Here are some pics 😉

Yeah it's a cool dropship, Aliens is being the favoruite of the four movies. This is my favorute quote :

Ripley: How long after we're declared overdue can we expect a rescue?

Hicks: [pause] Seventeen days.

Hudson: Seventeen *days?* Hey man, I don't wanna rain on your parade, but we're not gonna last seventeen *hours!* Those things are gonna come in here just like they did before. And they're gonna come in here...

🙂
