To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Greetings, Darkone, and all my fellow Space-sim addicts!
Having posted myself about the place quite liberally today (I only registered yesterday and already this is my 8th post), I feel I should conclude my spree with an introduction.
Firstly, I want to say that this website is a fabulous idea, and I completely understand the need to aggregate the many disparate websites that are out there. I have dozens of sites bookmarked and often used to spend significant time in the search engines following leads and chasing new software. Having it all in one place makes all the sense in the world, and I'm glad to be a part of it, however small. Congratulations, Darkone, this is quite an achievement and your hard work is very much appreciated. I'd very much like to contribute any way I can, and I hope you don't mind that I've already taken the liberty of bringing a little-known game with me:

As for myself, well, I'm a veteran gamer, being in the middle of my fourth decade on planet Earth. It has been my privilege and enormous pleasure to watch the first games like Starglider and Elite blossom into the Wing Commanders, Freespaces, X-Wing/Tie-Fighters and X series' games we all know and love.
I love Space. Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by it and still gain the major portion of my pleasure and relaxation from the whole sci-fi genre. Inside my soul lies the dream of the perfect space game. The Elite to end all Elites. Hopefully, with enough support from this community here, we can inflame some developers with the willingness to at least try to make our dreams a fun, playable reality.
Until then, long live SpaceSimCentral!
Hey Stardreamer
Post as much as you want I post so much sometimes I feel like i'm talking to myself 🙂 And thanks for the kind words. My sole goal for SSC is really just trying to make a place where people can chat about the whole space genre of games just not one or two games. Sometimes thats why people think Space gaming is dead is because the community is so fragmented. I just want to bring people together to discuss and play all the games. I try to invite a lot of developers to chat on here and display there games. So please do ask questions of them more feedback the better the game will be when it is finished.
There is so many projects being worked on that no one knows about and I search the net like crazy to find them. Helping out is really just getting the word out and your comments and insights to the games/demos/mods that you have played and if you spot a game/indie project do post it 🙂 I have a pretty decent links page that I have been working on that I add to to help the community find these games.
So enjoy Stardreamer and keep diving in there is a lot of things already here and to come.
