To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hello everyone!

I just subscribed to the forums here and still getting accustomed to the website. I guess my goals here are rather egotistical, but I'm currently working on a very unique space combat game and I want to spread the word around. I'll try to not be doing JUST that and actually participate on a variety of subjects on the forum, but I can be pretty busy so I hope that I'm not making empty promises. I look forward to learning to know you guys and if I can get support for my team along the way I'll be pretty happy.

I'm a gamer since the second I touched a game controller and I play all kinds of games, not only space sims. I have a very large collection of games, mostly on console. I admit that I've been slowly turning away from my Xbox360 recently, it seems like there's more stuff happening on PC, but I'm a big fan of sitting on a couch and holding a game pad. I play all kinds of games, from fighting games to racing sims to RPGs and shooters.

What I'm usually looking for in games are complexity and expressiveness. I want to do things my way and explore the different possibilities offered by the developers. I don't like when you can get and do everything in a single playthrough of a game, as it makes the concept of choice irrelevant. I want my decisions in a game to be hard to make and consequential. The games we make at Nine Dots reflect that.

Welcome mate. Your ideas all sound good so I'll be waiting to see what game you come up with based on them.

That's what we are here for, it was D1 original idea to set up the forums so developers and players could have home to shout about what they are doing.

Well that's good! With all the recently announced space sims, having a space to communicate directly with the audience is definitely a good thing.

Hi Guillaume

I was watching your early in-game videos and they look great btw, I didn't seem to come across a game name yet? If you want some forum space for your game you just have to say the word and I will create an area for you. But as you already know, best way to advertise a game is communication and of course breadcrumbs (ie: pics, videos, snd, q&a, etc...) so hope to hear more about your game.

Hi DarkOne! The universe is called GoD Factory, but the full name of the first game will be GoD Factory: Wingmen. I do intend to have a space on your forum for our game, I just wanted to take the time and look around before making a move. I'd rather observe and see what's already happening before choosing how I will approach all this. Thanks a lot for making SSC by the way!
