To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

This site is great. I just love space simulation games, especially since I played Freelancer, but Dark Star One, Privateer or Homeworld are good also.

Most important for me is that a space game does not focus on combats mainly but provides lots of areas and objects to explore, or to say it in short "To baldy go where no man has gone before" 😉 . A good storyline, spiced up with some surprises is always a treasure. But I am also interested in what independent and casual space game creators produce because they often implement some nice "bells and whistles" which covers what graphics and sound will miss and give some work for your imagination. A good example for this are space trade games.

Anyways, I will continue to check this site for news and look what other people think.

See ya!

Quite right Space Rider, after you get over the "trigger happy phase" of space sim games, it's always nice to have the option to explore just for the hell of it. Welcome to the SSC 🙂

I definitely want that in a game, yeah combat is nice to throw in there but if I can get a nice exploration game that really puts survival and the unknown in one package it will be a nice buy for me.
