To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Great shots again folks! 🙂 Gernot & Marcel's shots are on deck! 😎
Thought I would also point out that these screen shots are certainly helping to increase the hits on Mod DB, since the upload of Alpha 22, visits haven't been as high since the page was first created, I am most pleased. 🙂 Many, many thanks people! 😎
This shows the collaborative nature of Pioneer, I think.

Anyone want to go for a swim? Last one in...

...will probably be the only one to survive! 😈
Ah, at last! The pads! Are these finally going into Alpha 23? I will put it up anyway, but if they are in Alpha 23 I would like to save that shot as the icon for the download itself <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
As for the spikes, I ran into (literally <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//shok.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':O' /> ) them before on other worlds, odd things they are too, sometimes they are there, then when you go back, there gone <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_confused.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':?' />
Sorry Geraldine but they're not quite finished yet. I'm going to have a go at them today. As far as I know, Gernot's buildings wont be in alpha 23 either. I was just showing pictures of my travels.
Thats ok Marcel <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Do you have a latest version that people can try? Its ok to post stuff on Mod DB that is not in the Alphas as long as I have links so that people can try it out <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
At the moment the latest version for people to try is here.

The pads look the same. I've just been culling unseen polygons to make it more efficient. I've made quite a bit of progress today, so if you want to wait a bit it should be finished (except for those lights you wanted) in a day or two. I see that Gernot put similar lights on his version of the big_crappy_spacestation, so I'll try to steal *ahem* learn from them. My big_crappy is under construction (aka a mess) right now, but I've gotten the lights outside the door of the Coriolis station to change color with the docking state in the same manner as the pads. I'll be able to put up an alpha 22 mod version but I don't know if it'll be compatible with alpha 23. I'm back to dial-up for the next few days making download of daily builds, if not impossible, at least highly improbable. As an example my connection just now was lost as I was typing this. 🙄
Thats ok Marcel, I will wait, and your doing the lights!! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//shok.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':O' /> <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' /> <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' /> <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' /> . If, by any chance, you do get them added to Alpha 23, please let me know because I really want them for the download icon. That how much I like them! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Ok, back again folks and looking for some more cool Alpha 24 screenies for ModDB. Anyone got some hiding away on their hard drives they would be willing to share?
I did these quick ones today on using Alpha 24 but on my laptop...
Nice Metamartian! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' /> They are all good! But I need to pick one, mmmmmmmmmm. Ok, the hyperspace one, there are no shots of hyperspace on ModDB and that's a great one. Many thanks!
Edit: Metamartian's pic is on deck!
Cheers, unfortunately my laptop is old and can only utilize the legacy renderer but now that i have finished fannying about with ships for a while and marcel is sorting out the ground and space stations (I hope, wink wink) then I can finally spend some time playing the game. I'll try and get some more shots from around the universe on my travels. Then I should put some more effort into my TouchDown profile to get it more useable for pioneer <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
I've also linked your very helpful compatible ships list thread for Alpha 24 on Mod DB. That should help out folks wanting to try more of the models <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//wink3.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Good work Metamartian! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//sun_bespectacled.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sungum:' />
The spacestations without the random adverts and the ground stations work in alpha 24. <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
I just tested potsmoke's version of the big crappy station from alpha 22 and it works too. You also must have his buildings installed for it to work because it shares a model with them. It doesn't replace the other big crappy, it just gives us more varied places to visit. I suspect his ground stations will work too. I'll check it out and see if I can package them up as a mod, but first I want to get all those ships installed so I can use my last alpha 23 save game. I've got a lot of people waiting for their packages to be delivered. <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Some pictures of my trips <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Neptune and Ariel (with a strange tall crater in a crater in a crater <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />)
Europa, Jupiter and no big black monolith in sight... Maybe we can land safely <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
New Hope and a green slimy lake <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
The atmosphere was so thick in Atlantica, that landing there was like diving under water.
I liked Gliese 667 a lot, with its three suns and beautyful gas giants. Here we have the light of two of the suns, orange and red.
Gliese 667A, and its two gas giants 667Aa and b.
Baaam... Baaaam... Baaaaaaaam. BABAAAAAAAAAAA! Tum-tum Tum-tum Tum-tum <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_biggrin.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
Gliese 667A, B and Aa
Zarathustra said what?
You've got some nice ones in there! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Perhaps some kind modeller could add it as a hidden extra someplace? Oh and on the Moon also!
Anyways, great shots there Tichy! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//nyam.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':nyam:' /> I would like to add 2 of em to ModDB, if you don't mind <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' />

Just installed the new high-res heightmap of the Moon: http://pioneerwiki.com/wiki/Mods
Playing with the low gravity of the Moon is funny... At one point I exaggerated, and scratched my hull <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//haha.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' />
Update: sept. 28.
I compiled the last nightly build. I like the new internal views. The bottom view is very useful to land manually. Being able to look around from inside the ship increases the feeling of immersion a lot! (even if the nose of the ship covers the view a bit too much...).
However, since I wasn't able to load my last saving, I decided to start over and take some photos of Mars. The last time I went there, I didn't notice that it was so beautiful.

Hi Folks
As Alpha 27 is just out, is there anyone who would like to share a screen shot that I can use for the upload to ModDB? Pretty please!

Tichy, your screen shots never disappoint! Selected 2 of em for upload. Many thanks! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//good.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':good:' />
Some other photos, while autodocking:
A worker from the station is looking at me docking. (Don't ask me why he has a spaceship cockpit in his helmet) <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
<img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' /> Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice Tichy!! Two more added to the upload!
Just fyi, that awesome ring station model is not actually in 27 <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//wink3.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
