To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

EA is owner of WC, if we could convince them that they'll rake in suffice profit, they would make the sequel
Their release of WC3 could be sign that they are checking response of wc fans as part of their feasibility study. Since they got d licence to create new upcoming Star Wars ep7 space combat sims, the same platform could be used for WC6.
If they do, i hope they'll focus on some feasible common sense realism in designing the spacrafts with logical mechanism such as thrusters to yaw, pitch, roll. Best example is the ravagers fighter design in guardians of the galaxies. It shows logic sense on how it would use directional n fixed thrusters to maneuver. Also the spacecrafts n ships from nexus the jupiter incident
No air intake n no external armaments with vital parts/engines exposed like spacecrafts in starcitizen please. Star citizen spacecrafts failed common sense. Huge disappointment in logical common sense
If they ever got around to doing a new wing commander game I would like to see them return to the Kilrathi war setting of the first three games.
Yes, EA doesn't bother anything but money. If Star Wars 7 managed to get more people to love sci fi like it did during 80's, then demand for space sims games, toys n movies will go sky high.
Now that computer graphics n processors are more advanced, with EA's tech n resources, they could build real high end space combat sims with superb special effects like battle damage being pierced through with powerful rail cannon or hit by missiles. Also a capital ship that got itself a ripped hull after being punched through by torpedo would end up with some crew being sucked into space. Their advanced bodytight spacesuit would have manetic boots like starcom allowing them to stick to ship rather than lost in space. They might make it like starwars battlefront where player could play siege marine docking enemy capital ship or control capital ships weapons system, flight, defense, etc.
Should they come up with wc6, sequel to prophecy, they might make it triangle war between human, kilrathi n nephillim races. Since EA is greedy, they could come up with human for main game then d other 2 races in 2 separate additional expansion packs. Future spacecrafts that are built with high knowledge n understanding in law of physics, that means these spacecrafts are easier to fly n operate than present day fighter jets where non-hardcore gamers with less keen to learn could fly n enjoy d game despite high realism.
