To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I think we would all very much like something like that, but sadly, I think I can say with some confidence that it does not exist. That would not have been surprising a few years ago, but with all the hype around the "space game renaissance", it's somewhat disheartening to see how few new space simulator games have actually materialized in the past two years.
As far as I'm aware, the only two games that promise most or all of the features you mention, and which are more than pipe-dreams, are Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen. In my opinion Elite Dangerous is very much worth playing right now, although it does feel a bit dry. I have serious doubts about the long term prospects for Star Citizen, but for the moment they seem to have a very nice physics simulation with a sophisticated control system, and have been doing some rather interesting things to tweak the controls in order to improve gameplay (the flight model on the other hand, has not and will not change, on account of it being realistic). Anyway, there's oodles of commentary about these games on the internet, so I doubt I'm telling you anything new.
Also, I always advocate Independence War 2 to everyone in earshot. In my opinion, it was the only game that ever completely nailed spaceship combat (Elite Dangerous feels horribly awkward by comparison). It checks maybe about half of your boxes, depending on how stringent you are. It's an old game, but there is a somewhat active modding community.
Thank you for your help! On the issue of Elite, I bought and tested on Steam, and I think he will hardly achieve these characteristics I mentioned, and to achieve, will be very expensive! I will not go into more details about it, so let's continue. This game that can be told! It has many developers here in the forum that aimed to create a game with the above features, but unfortunately gave up the project. So I think there is hope to continue / create the "dream game". Does anyone have any other suggestions? May the force be with you!
Would agree with ExandingMan that you will not find all the features in one game but I think there are a few games which come close, obvious one would be Star Citizen, StarTrek on line could be another one.
Rodina might have some of them one day but it is still very early on in it's development and No Mans Sky could be another possible.
Oddly enough the one game that may fit your feature list best is Mass Effect Andromeda, granted not much is known about it at the moment but you can expect the hype train to be streaming into the station in the next few weeks.
Thank you for your help... but I think I found a game that comes close to what I intend to, his name is UNION Spaceship Command, will continue to follow the development of the game (it looks very promising). Thank you all again! Any other suggestions can post too! I will be grateful! May the Force be with you!
Empyrion Galactic Survival comes close and is early access on steam. There's also
a kick starter by the name of Planet Nomad that has a lot of promise.
Evochron Legacy is your game:
Questions: he is in the first person? is online? It is single-player?It was abandoned? Has the jobs of the crew (as captain and engineer)? Thank you for your help! May the Force be with you!
As Caleb suggested and you can always try the demo first to see if it's for you. http://www.starwraith.com/evochronlegacy/downloads.htm
Thanks for the suggestion, but I think it's not quite my type, because it had already played the Evochron Mercenary and I did not like so much, thought it is not my type. For me, the game has to be in the first person in space crew, singleplayer and multiplayer too, with the ability to explore the universe, land on planets, etc. (As in Star Trek). Any more suggestions? May the Force be with you!
The features you request simply have not existed until recently due to coding / technology limitations. There are several titles that contain mostly what you wish, but are in early-access or pre-alpha. Good luck.
- Star Citizen
- StarMade
- Rodina
- Interstellar Rift
- Space Engineers
- Empyrion
