To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Lets make a Pioneer promo video

New clips

Eclipse 1 and 2 are the same eclipse taken from various views and time compressions and cut to remove dead times.

The last ones are very nice 🙂

Epsilon cove is the trip from Itzalean to Epsilon Cove, taken from internal view with hud, without hud, and external view.

Now I'm preparing another eclipse video, where I'm escaping from the shadow 😀

I like this one too. Time to cut it and upload.

EDIT. It's ready: Eclipse 3 cut 1,2 and 3. 🙂

EDIT 2: I'll transfer all videos in a box.com account, that has a much higher upload limit and no countdown to download.

Here it is.

https://www.box.com/s/scsafpih1aiph7lnjmkm

For now I uploaded the shorter ones: Europa, Docking sequence, Vocanic planet. The others, when I'll get back from work.

EDIT: The eclipse sequence is uploaded. I'm uploading the trip to Epsilon Cove. There are some new short improvised videos around one of the Xi Bootis gas giants.

Some suggestions about places, things, actions, whatever to record?

By the way, does anyone think that these clips I'm recording are in any way useful? Should I go on?

The Paragon one is interesting. The music is nice - I don't recognise it, but I actually haven't listened to Pioneer's music for a while so it could be from there but I've forgotten it! That's kind of the idea I was hoping for, though with more gameplay shots.

Tichy, I'm about to start watching your stuff now.

Some new sequences in 1280x800 😆

Another docking with a fixed view (0:20)

I'm not completely satisfied, but I think that's better than the previous. I prefer to set in advance a fixed camera, because I'm not able to move the camera smoothly or in a way that you won't notice the movemet too much.

Elliptical orbit around Europa with periapsis in the point where you can see Sol and Jupiter rising. 2x time compression. Ship heading locked to forward. :prankster:

The first seconds are quite dark... Keep calm and whistle Also Sprach Zarathustra 😛

Inside view (2:55)

Sidereal view (2:53)

EDIT: Links removed. All the clips are now here:  https://www.box.com/...pih1aiph7lnjmkm

wow man you've been busy! I am flat out on a shoot this week but I will download these asap. many thanks

Yeah, I liked the eclipse ones too.

I notice you have extra ships, panel mods, etc installed. For an official promo video, I'd only want stuff that ships with the game out-of-the-box. Of course you can do what you like for your own fan videos 🙂

I won't delete them. At the moment, I'm using my box account only for this. 😉

In some clips with external view or internal with hud they are visibile. Mainly in the epsilon cove trips, and one of the docking sequences. Maybe I'll record them again using a clean install. 🙂

I'm on a trip from Sol to Epsilon Cygni (-6,-5,5), making stops at Gliese 873 (-1,-2,1), nn 4201 (-3,-3,2) and Veedeth (-5,-5,3).

First two systems: Sol and Gliese 873. I went to Mexico City to buy some water then jumped to Gliese 873. There, I recorded some videos while manual docking. Best viewed while whistling the Blue Danube  :prankster:

I made a deviation to Iota Pegasi and recorded some descent to nice planets with thick atmosphere. The videos are mostly uncut. You could find them long and boring. 😀 However there are some good visuals.

You can see some screenshot here: http://spacesimcentral.com/ssc/topic/2116-wanted-new-screenshots/?p=39834

Download from here:

Look for pioneer-iota_pegasi*

The sequences are: iota pegasi b -> c -> d and iota pegasi b take 2 -> h1

It's fun :prankster: and I also use them to prove people who thinks that there aren't good free software games, that they are wrong.

Another video 🙂

This is at Veedeth. Trip from Hyperspace cluoud to the planet Hick's Grave, the land to spaceport Burton City. All without autopilot.

~11min (could be boring) 😀

If what i understand, you "intercept" the planet perfectly. Tnx

In this video I was only chasing the planet.  I checked the system orbits screen just to make sure to not miss it. 🙂

Next time I'll try to intercept a planet, but I think it will be hard to guess where I will be at a certain time, taking into account the changes of speed. More probably, I'll try to guess the direction and do a single final correction while slowing down. I will also try to not use the tunnels. They are convenient to understand when it 's time to slow down, but they spoil the view quite a bit  :prankster:

As for the best time, I'll work on it, but I don't feel it as a priority. For the moment, I prefer to learn how to pilot more cleanly (and not crash)

Double delivery in Veedeth system. From Hick's Grave to Wilson's Mysery's Mcconnellville, then takeoff and orbit to Arnold Station at the opposite side of the planet.

All in manual... Without tunnels.

Including two of the most silly landings in history.  😳

And to think that those deliveries were intended to earn some money and repair the hull...

200MB, ~30min including audio. Beware! Extremely boring! ...but including some use of the iterface to browse through the bbs, system information and orbits. Maybe useful for a video... I don't know.

Next time I'll see if I could capture some color play from the the three suns of this system... I found a planet with some atmosphere. 🙂

Veedeth A c. The only planet with atmosphere in this system with three stars.

Some videos in orbit from different views and two descents. In the second I expoled the surface trying to find a good place to land and watch some sunrises and dawns from the three stars. Unfortunately I couldn't land due to a bug. I'll try again.

Downloads here: https://www.box.com/s/scsafpih1aiph7lnjmkm

Look for pioneer-veedeth_A_c*

EDIT: I'm uploading another video called pioneer-veedeth_A_c-descent3.mp4. This one have some nice views and audio, so you can hear the sound of the planet 😉 (~21min) However, no chance to land... 🙁

The developers would probably be interested in that bug. You might want to post some details about it.

Hi All,

Just a quick note to say I've started on this project properly now. Converting all the material so far to ProRes so it plays nice in FCP & After Effects and feel like there's some great images to work with.

So I'm thinking what I'll do is cut something from the footage I've downloaded over the next fortnight and then upload it to vimeo and then people can just open fire on what's wrong with it and what's missing/mandatory and we can work back from there to add everything the various stakeholders feel it needs.

best wishes to all

s#$t! I also meant  to say how lovely the images are - there's some great shots with the right music will give a sense of scale and awe that currently only really exists in this game. Well done Tichy
