To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hey all!
Just wanted to pop in and let you know that development on the game continues apace and to remind folks about our Greenlight campaign 😀
The great news is we're in the top #100 on Greenlight which means, hopefully, we'll be approved sometime in the near future. It's no guarantee that we will be but the closer we are to #1 the better so if you haven't had a chance to check it out and vote please do so!

Great news about getting into the top 100 hopefully it wont to long before you get green lighted.
Speaking of greenlight, they just lit 25 new titles, which means we get a good jump up to #66!
( http://isdriftergreenlityet.com/ for the latest statistics and links to go vote )
Oh PINBACK, I'm not sure if it's possible but Drifter now runs under Linux as well if you're able to update the post title.
Done.
Thank you sir!
Any news on the next update to the game.?
Plan is for 0.3.1 tomorrow. It's actually got some new features (addition of Afterburners and faster Slipstream) but I felt it wasn't quite enough to warrant a minor version increase.
There will be a much shorter wait for 0.4.0 as well.
Nice one CGSColin will be keeping an eye for it. :good:
Excellenty, I take it the Humble Bundle site will update too? :girlcrazy:
Making the AI in the game "afterburner aware" has been taking longer than expected but the results will be fun, I hope. I made them a little bit more intelligent about using their momentum to make attack runs instead of attempting to turn around slowly and fly away (thus losing all of their speed in the process). Certainly looks a bit cooler anyway:
As for Humble yes, that's where you'll be able to get the game when it's ready. I've also added a version check that pings the Drifter site to check and make sure you have the latest version, and if you don't it'll let you know. Hoping that'll be useful 🙂
Oh yes, like that indeed! :girlcrazy:
0.3.1 is uploading for seeding to Humble right now. It's likely it won't be available until tomorrow but I'll let folks know when it is.
0.3.1 is available through your Humble Library for Kickstarter and pre-order backers.
You can read all about it here: http://celsiusgs.com/drifter/wiki/Current_Build_and_Known_Bugs
Nice one :good:
The new icons are gonna look prettttty cool I think!
And the big view,
Which I made from the original sketch :
Don't forget to vote on Steam if you haven't! We are just shy of 13 000 yes votes o/
Apologies for bringing up our Greenlight campaign again but we're seriously only about 800 yes votes away from the Top 20 on Greenlight, which while not 100% a sure thing it's still likely Drifter would get approved for Steam in the next round of approvals in a couple of weeks!
All we ask is if you haven't already voted please take a moment to check out the page and consider voting 🙂

Also note that because of greenlightings we are now at #3 on greenlight!
Interesting vids there Underscorediscovery, also if you don't mind that I ask, but what were you listening to in the video? It sounded like an Amiga or Atari ST mod at the beginning.
The one video has this playing (probably the one you are referring to) :
http://absrdst.bandcamp.com/album/home-sweet-home
the other includes a couple of songs from
https://aliceffekt.bandcamp.com/album/the-ehrivevnv-studies-reissue
I try to display the music player block somewhere visible but maybe not so obvious that that is the music playing. 🙂
Just letting everyone know we're now at #4 on Greenlight!
The latest batch of approvals came a week earlier than I was expecting (it seems like they're approving new titles every 2 weeks now) so our jump in rank probably happened just after they started making the list for the last batch.
The good news is I'm fairly certain we'll get approved when the next batch goes through in a week 🙂
Well done and totally deserved!
I just wanted to let you know Drifter has been greenlit and to say thank you to everyone for helping us get there!
I have a lot of catching up to do but what this means is that once Drifter is ready to go on Steam, everyone that backed the game on Kickstarter and pre-ordered it through our Humble Store widget will be getting a key to add Drifter to their Steam Library 😀
Congratulations on being Greenlit :good:
Just noticed that Drifter 0.4 was released about a month ago.
