To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Not surprising.

The core CoD players are on console, plus I'm certain a lot of people were turned off by its ridiculous minimum spec and once again people, even the media are tired of playing that exact same damn game over and over again, so yeah.

Some poeple would have you believe that PC gaming is dying because generic shooters on PC usually sell on tenth of what they do on consoles these days (<-they use that as an argument).

Gaming on a PC takes generally more money for the equipment, and consoles are built better around the whole multi-player function. They do it well, yeah PC's do it. But it seems smother on a console usually. I play my PS3 only a few times a month, but I am on my PC daily, there is really no MMO's on the consoles, so FPS games sell well on them. PC's are a bit different, there is so many gaming options available to us that don't want to drop $60 for a CoD game.

I doubt X-Rebirth would sell well on the console just because the audience and the control scheme.
