To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I went into low orbit with the autopilot, isn't this low enough? I'll try an even lower orbit nevertheless.

That's the way. It happens rarely with some planets, but is expected to happen.

Thank you for the interesting modification. Especially for the script, which can work independently in the game. I would like to ask about some of the changes in the script: I'm interested in more time to scan of the planet, the greater the distance of the expedition, and the lowest height above the surface of the planet.

More time of scanning, mission becomes more dangerous. It's hard to stay alive 10 minutes (real time because of the red alert) under laser attack. But I have thought in "different levels of difficulty" which may increase this time and other things, such as the size of ships and weapons of pirates.

I'm working on occasional scout missions at distances between 100 and 200 light years, with one fantastic reward. You will need to use ships with "fuel scoop" to repost fuel, the objective would be far from home and surely other faction.

 

"...lowest height above the surface of the planet..."

 

Once the scan is activated, you can approach the planet much as you want.

Edit: never mind. I just read the Mods on SSC thread. I think that Scout+ is the mod I'm going to be using for Pioneer! And my Hometowns mod.

Pioneer Scout+ incorporates the concept of "danger levels" throughout the system, including missions Delivery, Taxi, and Scout.

 

Selecting DL (danger level) is at the start game:

 

Lave = DL 0 / no danger

Earth and New Hope = DL 1 / normal danger

Achernar = DL 2 / maximum danger

 

You can change this level while playing, simply by changing the registration of their ship, or making a "generous donation". 🙂


DonateToCranks.lua  module is modified.

 

"The Church of The Celestial Flying Spaghetti Monster" and others.

 

Your donations are important now. A timely (and generous) donation can decrease one level of danger.


Pirates.lua  module is modified.

 

Pirates circumstantial behave differently now.

 

The pirates used large ships. The goal is to destroy your ship and pick up the load. The pirates do not attack small ships.

 

The hostiles (Mafia, etc) use lightweight or big ships, depend of danger_level. Your goal is to stop or destroy his ship to avoid that meets a specific mission. The hostile, will attack small or large ships.


It incorporates a new module: ShipsResale.lua

This module makes it possible to exchange your ships (resale of ships is disappeared in A32).

 

Will have a better interface with the new UI, when available.


The return path in Scout mission is automatic now.

 

When the mapping is completed, the system automatically selects the destination path (following selection) in the navigation chart. In most cases, you just need to press F7 to skip to final destination.


Now, Scout missions to unexplored planets, are paid between 60 and 100% more.

Had forgotten to mention that all the ships of @potsmoke66 in SGM are included and working well, but lacks finish some details like lights, pilots, and other minor things. But fly very well and are specially balanced for this game.

 

They are also solved the problems of ships that do not end of docking in space stations, orbital and surface.

 

And other things I do not remember, but certainly are important.  :sclerosis:

 

Certainly if you're a fan of playing missions, this mod is for you. :pioneer:

An indispensable complement to those who like to play missions.

New things in this version:

 

I have often wondered why, if I intend to travel from New Hope, to London, the taxi drops me at Pluto.

 

Now the taxi missions are targeting a specific space station, not a system. Now I take the taxi to the door of my house. 🙂

Now, the target system is automatically set in the "road map" by pressing the button "Accept and set system target in the navigation chart."

Now, the amount of factions are optimized for game play. There are three main factions: Federation, Confederation and Empire, all the others are "Independent". The faction "RED" is now "Empire".

 

Internal improvements related to the detection of "faction membership" of ship. It removes the prefix SP in enrollment and replaced with a more effective method.

 

Now, InfoView displays the name of the membership faction.

Important changes in how to select the locations of missions to avoid docking impossible in some space stations. Thanks John (jpab) for your great help.

 

Important change in the behavior of hostile ships (pirates) on risk missions in modules, delivery and taxi. The hostile ships have become very disrespectful of urban areas, apparently in police complicity.

 

The original texts of this game are written in Hispanic American language and translated into English by Google Translate. Thanks Marcel, to correct some things that were poorly translated in the previous version. It is highly possible that new dialogues contain errors. Know apologize and appreciate warn me errors. Pioneer manage only .zip, not .7z

 

Other form (for developers or modders)

 

Create a data folder in your userdir.

 

Eg. My DocsPioneerdata<unzip here the "mod", in Pioneer mod format>

I forgot to say I had to make some changes in 'Deep Space Miner'. The most important thing is that now the laser shoots forward instead of firing up.  :scout:

The new version of Pioneer Scout+ is G5. G for "Gold" and 5 is the fifth installment (for 5 consecutive months) of this mod, with continuous additions, and improvements.

I have included two new ships posted on the forum so they can see them. I would like them to be incorporated into the core of Pioneer, when they are finished:

Although not yet completed (as most new models) are working properly and you can try.

 

We have interesting improvements in the list of Missions. Sorting by name, destination, date of due, or reward, is now possible thanks to the excellent work of Oleg Ovcharenko (UncleVasya).

I did a little modification in the view of the status, in hyperspace, and Local. I think they will like

I have made many minor improvements and code cleanup in the modules.

I have corrected minor inconsistencies in the internal name of the ships, which caused some warning messages in the file stderr.txt

Now, the automatic selection of the path to the system is not activated if the system is local.
