To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

WOW! those pics looks awesome, nice one!
Anyone fancy a snowball fight? <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Great work s2odan.
Also, M-Saunders on the Frontier Forum informed me (post 101) that Alpha 14 has been added to Linux Format's coverdisc. Here is a link http://forums.fronti... ... #post20199

Wow. That issue should also feature my Linux User Group! I'm *so* buying that issue.
any ideas for "content" additions to the polar regions for mining id say water, water ice and other perhaps cold deposits of minerals. Polar planets could produce cold weather vechiles and water products or something along those lines
Star terrain work is nearly finished, and should make alpha 15. This brown dwarf looks great!
any asteroid lovin ?
polar ice caps looks great, just downloaded the latest source and compiled it, those icecaps look awesome, well done on a job well done, Earth looks a lot better with the icecaps
I'm surprised we'll still have them by 3200
yeah true, the way things are going, we might not have them, but this could be an alternative timeline and who knows what differences there could be
That's very good news! I'm glad to see Pioneer is getting the attention it deserves. Nice new screenshots by the way, s20dan!
Oh so close now...
Your not-so friendly neighbourhood K type star:

Brown dwarfs get some light shading now from brighter stars:
(Oh actually Rob posted a pic of this change, but as you can see the colours have been tweaked a little)

@Geraldine, thats cool 🙂 I'll have to try and hunt down a copy of that magazine.
Yep, you are all gonna be celebs now! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_lol.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Also been dropping info on the PC Gamer site, link http://www.pcgamer.c...ead.php?t=12778 .
Perhaps, if there is enough interest, they might include the windows version on their cover DvD at some point too. Incidentally, quite a few people on that site are aware of Pioneer, although I could not find any prior posts about it.
Those stars look lovely by the way s2odan. Beautiful, beautiful work! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' />

He's KEEN!
Im assuming this is in December's issue? I downloaded November and couldn't find it in there.... These magazines are funny, Novembers issue available in September lol, how out of date will it be 🙂
A friend on IRC said, "It's interesting that there's still people for whom that's the best way to expose your project to them". So, the lead time is no bad thing - this *will* reach new people.
Fyi, star terrains just hit master and will be in the next nightly build and of course alpha 15 (due 14 October).
PC gamer sounds great i think asking for more programmers could be something if they do a piece on pioneer but at least its getting some coverage
That's the day I'm getting married! Sorry, Robn.. I can't promise I'll be able to try the alpha out that night, but I'll try 😆 😆
WOW!! Congratulations!! 😀 Very best wishes to you and your partner 🙂
If she really loved you ... 😉 Congrats mate 🙂

congrats, hope it goes well
Thanks very much! 😀
I was just looking through some of my old posts there and came across this one viewtopic.php?f=9&t=584&start=10
It was about best game intros from way back in November 09. In it I linked 3 You Tube videos showing the original Frontier intro and two fan created ones. Looking at the fan made intros again after all this time, got me thinking just how far along Pioneer is to, not just matching the fan made ones, but in time, surpassing them too. Well done guys! <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I never thought at the time that there would be a game that could one day, finally do those videos justice.
Finally, I always thought the music from Coolammo's vid (by Andy Bellenie) was great. It's what the Frontier theme should have sounded like <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_cool.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8-)' />
