Questions about lasers

Hi,

Have quesrtion if laser will be like in original Frontier, so continuous beam as it should be and not that starwars bolts. Otherwise great work on latest vesrsion. Its all that lover of Elite and Frontier needs.

Yes, i think the original Laserbeam would be better to.

i guess a lot would like beam lasers...

well it looks like we have some FE2 cracks that can work well with pulse lasers.

i'm aware it's evil really evil to fight in pioneer, chances to survive are little...

besides i didn't think a beam laser would help much, just think the enemy will use then one to...

i imagine they will melt you down with them before you can say "ah.."

i see myself more as a mediacre skilled, i know some have problems already in good old FE2 to stand, but it seems some can handle our AI lefthanded.

yes it's to wish we could have once perhaps a lower skilled AI?

in the beginning the enemies acted equal to FE2, but now they "learned" how to fight for real.

really i know it and this is a task i trie from time to time to beat the "debug start" eagle, i never managed to beat him and i'm happy if i'm able to hit him a few times before i'm dead.

as a second "trainer" you can use CTRL-F11 to invoke a attacker, it will be the default police ship, actually this is the "Ladybird starfighter" which is at least not as quirky as the Eagle.

but you can change that now easy to any other ship, just rename any model to "ladybird".

actually i run "coolhands" Police Viper as Police ship, not that it will be easier to handle, just as example.

i linked here what i have used in alpha26, you will need the submodels else the ships won't work, but it should work with all the rest (cross fingers).

it changes some stuff foremost updates the "FE2" ships.

it includes the patched police vessel, this has a small leak, to remove the "Police Viper" from the Shipyard i made a static ship out of her.

she will appear now occasionally like any other static ship orbiting around a station or planet, but is fully functional as police vessel.

there are more unfinished things in those files, expect changes.

of course no warranty it will work, but it should.

actually i can't test it with the alpha27 release, because the MAC release refuses to start on my MAC.

but in alpha26 it works fine.

edit: i was wrong, all is fine with any textures, it was the size of the texture, must have overseen the original texture was 1280x1280 i used for the "LEGO shuttle" in FFED3D, at home i didn't saw any problem so i didn't noticed it.
