To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I have a rookie question for you Farcodev, I see that the ingame ship's texture looks differnet then the other one. How much control do you have over the texture when you put into a game? Can you enhance a texture when you import it, or does the texture lose some of its detail when it is imported into a game?

I'm working on creating a set of ship hull textures to be used in "Miner Wars" and I'd like to request your assistance on this matter. I'd appreciate it very much if you could link me pics I could use as a guide/refference for -> technical things, pipes, greeble, parts, anything that could be applied as a texture on a space ship.

Actually I haven't worked on MW for a while now. I stepped down from the art director position a few months ago and I haven't modelled anything since then ... so I guess you can change my "dev rank" to "normal member" so there wont be confusions.
I wanted to place your logo and link in my new image slider (sort of banner) on the blog but I couldn't find any pic of your banner that was the right resolution, so when and if you're gonna create new banners for SSC I'll be borrowing one to place on my blog 🙂
Farcodev, you're still going strong on that game of yours ? I remember it was in a pretty advanced stage when I last looked at it.

That last station looks cool, I might actually have a use for it. I find it funny how the guy that rendered the pic didn't realized the station leaves shadow across like a quarter of the planet's surface, now that's a big station 😀

I didn't had time to work on this one as much as I wanted but ... anyway, here it is, a new planetary base.
You can edit this one extensively: you can easily move / add / remove the landing pads, the building or the trees. You can also edit the background image and add whatever image you like, it can be with a space theme, or a forest, or a futuristic city or whatever you like.
