To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Open Perpetuum Project - Free community server for Perpetuum

Perpetuum Online shutdown the official server well over a year ago and since that time the player community created an open-source development and server hosting project: Open Perpetuum Project.

It has been a year since we launched into a live persistent server for all to play, and are celebrating this occasion with gifts, events and updates

Drop by and check out what we've been working on.

If they shutdown the server why is it still being sold on steam? Who gets the revenue here.... the Open Perpetuum community?

So is it only server enhancements that can be done to the game now or can the client be changed?

What is sold on steam is just the client - which is owned and distributed by AC (Avatar Creations) through their publisher. The client remains closed source. And purchases of the client go to them.

The server was open sourced, and that's what we work on and host for everyone to play, for free.
