To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

New version of wordpress is out and a bunch of addins need updating. So I will be backing up the DB and then updating everything, I WILL NOT be bringing the site down for this but if there is issues please let me know if you see any. I don't think there will be any issues but you never know 🙂
If I feel motivated I might renew the SSL cert, but that doesn't expire for a few more weeks so I have time....
So if there is any nagging issues I need to know about speak up now and I will try to fix them or least document them in my notes on the server so I don't forget.
I failed in my mission to perform the upgrades I needed to do I was busy 🙂 So I will plan to do this next week.
Performed the update:
- Backed-up DB/files for the site
- Updated PHP
- Updated Wordpress and six addins
- Updated the SSL Cert
- Cleared site cache
