To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

she's sized down actually to 100m, but it's a sneeze to scale her up, if ever needed.

and this to the case of a landed enterprise

let's make it for real,

Bildschirmfoto2012-09-03um142558.png

Bildschirmfoto2012-09-03um142317.png

the ship is sized close to the original (300m length) and has a mass of 1000t (500t cargo, 300t hull, 200t fuel)

choose your destination well, only outdoor spaceports work for this ship.

I had to kick him off the bridge. He kept telling me to get out of the chair.

She's beautiful! I think your extra tall pads may be the only ones that can properly handle her. I tried a new alpha 26-freeze game and on the standard pads there was at least one building poking through the hull even on the lowest setting. Fortunately the shields held so I could take off without damage.

a hint: the space a building needs depends not on the entered bounding radius, it's the max. dimesion the models has, i.e. if you tear down the base of the landing pads, the station will need then more space in the city.

my outdoor spaceport is in fact a lot higher the pads are levelled 200m (this was to avoid buried landing pads in extreme situations), but i'm not sure, anyway to avoid that it uses to much space i had to remove the collision mesh of the lower part of the model (all what is below 0m).

what i like to say is you can control the needed space for a groundstation (or any buildung).

next will be a up-scaled sealed groundstation, i will see if i can burie the station, because while docking the ships have no collision checking as i remember, so it's possible to park the ships 100m - 200m below the ground. i always had planned it that way, but it wil use a lot of space in the city. i will see if i can limit it with the collision mesh to a acceptable range, the parts below 0m won't come often over ground, it will be hard to recognize any difference, because you certainly crashed before you can fly into a gap of 50m along a steep and crumbled terrain.

If you fast forward time while you're in the shipyard you'll see ships appear and disappear as they're offered for sale and sold. This ship may not work in alpha 27 because of the new camera views. I haven't tried it yet. It sure looks nice in alpha 26 though. <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

This is due to recent changes of Pioneer.

In this link NCC-1701A-mini-ship-P66-pioneer-a28-waV1.zip you will find a scaled version (more maneuverable) of Enterprise.

Just drop it in the MODS directory without decompressing. OK works (tested) in alpha 27 and alpha 28.
