Hi all, I am having problems with the August release of Pioneer. Has anyone else experienced a red screen kick me out?

No, but I get a ctd when I try to run the Linux64 version with Scout+ G8.

Thanks walterar!  :biggrin:  I was thinking mhollow might have G8 in his mods folder too.

@marcel, Ahh, we did have that 'issue' a while back, I will check this.

Nope. No G8 in the mods folder. Guess ill have to wait for the next release and see if I have any problems there. Cant think why this might occur, ive not changed anything and ive still got the past 2 versions of Pioneer on my hard drive. Both of them work fine. Its just the August release that wont load.

@Biscuits What says stderr.txt?

Are there any cheats available through the command prompt? I'm not asking because that's how I would play the game all the time, I just want to see all the ships and weapons available for myself without having to grind for hours to do that.

pressing ctrl-m will give you a bunch of money each time you press it

I remember reading that there's a way to select your ship directly from the console but I don't remember what is is. (That's a hint for somebody to remind me how to do it too.)

New to the forums, but I've been playing Pioneer on and off for a year or so. However, and this might sound strange, but apart from when I accidently attacked a space station, I've never once been attacked or even seen another ship in space. Is this just me, or are some areas of space just really, really safe :)?

Just a quick question for @Brianetta

I tried to use the latest cheatmission file but when I copy the extracted file into the modules, pioneer no longer starts. I was wondering if there is a new location for your cheat UI.  I know it is not "official" but it always used to work.

It was a test script Brianetta developed that allowed you to tweak several things. It works on older versions of Pioneer but since there was a windows update my Alpha 21,22,23 etc no longer even RUN which is a problem.

Styggron, I don't think that script will work without a lot of updating and I'm not familiar with the code necessary i'm afraid.

Very rarely on IRC. He's off doing other stuff. Easily contactable if you'd like anyone would like drop him a line and ask. I'm not bothered though - this is a long-term project and I expect people to come and go. I certainly have!
