I just hope we will see some epic battles <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
I think that's a certainty. Thanks to Digitilus' savvy coding, my medium-slow rig can handle dozens of ships battling at once (based on the demo) without a hitch, and I've heard that much larger battles are definitely planned.
I really like this music clip from the game and I just noticed that you can pickup two copies for $20.

So go and donate and get SkyJacker out sooner!
About 50hrs left until the end of the kickstarter, I hope more people jump on board for this game soon. Digitalis has a surprise they said, probably be tomorrow.
Still about a 100k a tough one, but not impossible to do as these Kickstarts can come good in the last few hours.
They are about 60% now (just under 120k) they can do it if the word gets out and people make some donation. Digitalis is really showing some class in how they are looking at the kickstarter as a whole and the game will come out with or without kickstarter. It would just be a huge boost for the team if they made the goal they are striving for. Made my donation and I hope everyone that hasn't and likes open world games to lend a hand.
Why do you suppose their kickstarter failed? What we uncover should be helpful to other space sim kickstarters.
I think it was the figure of $200k personally and I think Digitalis will do better doing smaller kickstarters for small projects within SkyJacker. I think its tough for a unknown/new IP to get any real funding without some big names behind it or some money or friends in high places. That last kickstarter, think it was starlight inception was looking for 120k and they barely made it on the last day, and if you notice SkyJacker was right about that at 128k. I think they are moving in the right direction and the game is still going to be made. But I was a bit surprised it didn't come closer to the goal, because Digitalis did a good job on really showing off their art work, explaining the game and they had a damn demo. Maybe a bit more self promotion from Kickstarter might have helped, because I get emails from them and sometimes they are advertising the lamest things. But never did receive a email about SkyJacker.
Would agree with D1 that the amount was just a shade too high and that the game was unknown before hand, some better ground work building up the game before jumping straight into the Kickstarter.
I also noticed on RPS that they said the updates were confusing which may have contributed to it.
Good new is that Digitalis have not given up and have set up there own shop front where you can pr-order the game using the same tiers as Kickstarter.
Yeah I read that in my email yesterday, $20 gets you two copies and from what I have seen in the videos and what Digitalis has put out it will be money well spent.
Very temped by the disc version but at $150.00 i will have to have a think about it.
Maybe Digitalis can provide DVD Cover Art for a small price?
SkyJacker back with a new kickstarter, this time for a game called SkyJacker Constructor with a modest $30K stretch goals will be used to fund the full game.

They also say they are porting the whole game to unity
I'm really digging their graphics style, very original. Hope it turns out ok for them this time.
I pledged on the first KS effort (yes, I'm a sucker for Space Sims). I'll see if I can support this time also, although between the whoopie amount of cash on Elite (and 5 related books...), Godus, Satr Citizen and Limit Theory, it is getting a bit over the top.
Damn, 20 years waiting for a proper space sim and now we have at least 3 candidates???
Couple of WIP vids showing the cargo and ship disassembling.
Skyjacker KS been a bit quiet lately.
Still have 19 days to go.
That is for the Constructor and not the actual game itself, this constructor is pretty cool and I haven't read too much on how this fits into the game itself? But from what I know it is a tool that will let you put together or take apart all the skyjacket ship assets in the game. And depending on funding goals they might add features to allow you to create new ships using their in-game assets. I do hope this tool is in the final PC version of the game because it would make modding so much fun.
Seems to going very slow for them as this update from the KS said.
It's not a secret that we have big plans for the future, and this campaign is just a part of the bigger campaign, related to the main game - our space combat simulator SKYJACKER. The plan was to reach 30K goal before the end of December and to occupy some of our stretch goals in January. But we still are in the very beginning, struggling to reach at least the main goal. So what's going on there? Nobody wants to play new cool space games anymore? Or backers are satiated with other games? Let us remind you: our game is quite different to others. No doubts, those other space simulators are very interesting games too. But only in SKYJACKER you can destroy everything your weapons can reach. Any asteroid or enemy ship can be a target of your passion to destroy! And the only Starship Constructor lets you get a look inside of those ships before to start to get crash them inside the game. Did you see this feature anywhere else in space sims? I doubt! So why we are struggling so much to raise even 30K for such incredible app?
Another disassembling vid
Only 9 days to go and they are just over the half way mark to the 30,000 total, hopefully it will pick up a bit in the next week.
Starting to pick up a bit now, they do have some good tiers on the KS.
I'm considering backing this KS, as I've backed the original unsuccessful KS. Although the rather obnoxious statement towards Elite from the promoter were a big turn off...

Ah Derek Smart syndrome.
Still 30 hours to go and they have finally made over their KS goal
Anyone else in Skyjacker, just waiting for them to get their forum set up.
Got the invite to the forum, it come on Monday but I did not realizes what it was until the other day when I got the email about downloading the game sound track.
